Neighbourhood Watch members see things all the time that need fixing in their community. Instead of saying to yourself, somebody should do something about that – you can be that somebody and be a local champion.

It is so easy with the Snap, Send Solve App. Download the app from the App Store. Just take a photo of what needs fixing, press send, and your job is done. Good for you, good for your community and good for NHW.

Send your before and after photos to admin@nhwtas.org.au to be in the running for our great annual prize, and add to my supply of photo examples for the coming months!

Neighbour Day is the last Sunday in March each year. This is another opportunity for Neighbourhood Watch (NHW) groups to do something to make a difference in their community.

Greater Glenorchy NHW is supporting a free community barbecue i front of the Glenorchy City Council. Everyone is welcome from 12 noon to 4pm on Thursday, 4 April 24.

Local members of Tasmania Police have been asked to Save the Date and drop by through the afternoon, so please do come along and enjoy some neighbourly hospitality.

Once again, primary school students are encouraged to enter our Calendar Drawing Competition. Each age category winner and their family will be invited to attend our AGM and prize giving ceremony at the Country Club on Saturday, 19 October 24. The prize is $100, a NHW tote bag with contents and a certificate for each winner to recognise their achievement.

NHW members are asked to use their contacts, newsletters and social media friends to promote the competition and assist in coordinating entries. More information and entry forms can be downloaded here.

Let’s be frank. This competition is about us engaging with the younger generation and their families to promote the benefits of NHW, being good neighbours and promoting community safety. It will be an enormous sense of pride to see a child from your neighbourhood have their entry published in our calendar for next year, because you did one thing (DOT) that gave them the opportunity.
