This year we will celebrate 40 years of continual operations in Tasmania. This anniversary will be our theme throughout the year with particular emphasis on:
Bunnings, Clarence City Council and Tasmania Police are working with us to host a pilot, Cordial with a Cop family event. Follow us on www.facebook.com/NHWTas to get more details and bring the children for another unique holiday experience!

Tasmania Police have zero tolerance for dangerous hooning behaviour. Reports can be made to police by calling 131 444 or Crime Stoppers anonymously on 1800 333 000, or at crimestopperstas.com.au.
If you can’t report it at the time but you have footage, submit it to the Tasmania Police evidence portal at https://www.police.tas.gov.au/report/.
New laws restricting social media access for children under 16 started on 10 December 25. The rules are to help prevent cyberbullying, grooming, and exposure to harmful content that can be found on major platforms, such as:
Social media companies must use age‑assurance tools to apply the law. Tasmania Police urge parents and carers not to rely solely on these restrictions to keep young people safe online. They also recommend following the five top tips from ThinkUKnow:
Visit ThinkUKnow, an Australian Federal Police (AFP) program to prevent online child sexual exploitation, for more information go to: https://www.thinkuknow.org.au/.
This App has to be the easiest way to improve your neighbourhood, whether it is an errant shopping trolly, dumped rubbish or overgrown street sign, you can report it through the Snap Send Solve App and usually have the problem fixed within a short period of time. It works!
Safe Package Delivery: If you’re expecting a parcel, arrange for secure delivery to prevent it being left in an easily accessible spot. Consider requesting signature confirmation or picking it up from the post office if you’re unavailable. Providing a secure drop-off location can help keep your package safe from opportunistic thieves.
Still thinking about a New Year’s Resolution? To be a member or supporter of Neighbourhood Watch means you are prepared to at least Do One Thing each year to contribute to the wellbeing of your neighbourhood. It may be picking up rubbish on your daily walk, looking out for a lonely neighbour or helping host a Cuppa with a Cop (CWAC).
More ideas can be found in our previous Monthly Bulletins located at: https://nhwtas.org.au/media-and-resources/ or in our Neighbourhood Watch Australasia Journals at: https://www.nhwa.com.au/news-media/journal/.
