Our Calendar Drawing competition has just one more month to run. Every member needs to support at least one child to enter. Personally give them the entry form; ideas about what to draw; and then send the drawing in for them. This is how you can truly support this initiative.

Each winner and their family are invited to attend our AGM and prize giving at the Country Club on Saturday, 19 October 24. The prize is $100, a NHW tote bag and a winners’ certificate. We pay a fuel subsidy for every winner’s family to attend and provide a great morning tea.
We can all help one child to enter and engage with Neighbourhood Watch. We are they!

Every year we recognise those NHW members who are active supporters of the work we do. Everyone is entitled to nominate any member who is deserving of a NHW Award. It is very simple to make a nomination, just send me an email at with the name of the person you are nominating and the reasons they are deserving, and I will do the rest.

Nominations will be received at any time but the cut off for 2024 is the 30th of June.

Thanks to the Australian Federal Police (AFP) here are tips for using public Wi-Fi securely.

  • To connect to a free Wi-Fi network, you shouldn’t have to enter any personal details– such as logging in through an email or social media account.
  • Choose Wi-Fi networks that require a password. Avoid ‘open’ or ‘unsecure’ networks.
  • Disable file sharing on your device and don’t do anything sensitive, like banking.
  • Once you finish, go into your Wi-Fi settings and select ‘forget network’. Turn off the Wi-Fi on your devices to prevent automatically connecting to a network.
  • Install a reputable virtual private network (VPN) on your devices to encrypt and secure your data when using the internet.

Always use caution when logging onto public Wi-Fi networks! If in doubt, wait until you can use a trusted network such as your home, office or personal mobile connection.
