Our Annual General Meeting, Awards and Prize Giving ceremony was held at the Country Club, Prospect on Saturday, 19 October 24. It was a wonderful morning when we could recognise some more exceptional Neighbourhood Watch volunteers. The day was even more special because we could also welcome children who had won prizes in our Calendar Drawing Competition, also with their family and friends.
Please visit our 2024 Awards and Photo Gallery at: https://nhwtas.org.au/media-and-resources/.
The Week runs from 6 November to 12 November 24. NHW will set up information desks, conduct raffles, hold CWACs and sausage sizzles at their local Bunnings Warehouses during The Week. Check the Key Dates at the end of this Bulletin or check with your NHW group to find out what they are doing, when and where.
The Steetsmart Handbook is a practical resource developed to support young people as they transition to adulthood. The latest edition is out now and is available online. You can download it from the Neighbourhood Watch Australasia (NHWA) website at: https://www.nhwa.com.au/resources/flyers-booklets/streetsmart-handbooks/.
Although it is designed for young people, it is a terrific resource for any adult who wants to have a better understanding of issues that affect young people. Have a read and see if you don’t come away better informed than you think you were!
Our Calendar for 2025 was launched at our AGM and Awards Ceremony on Saturday, 19 October 24. It is a limited edition. The winning entries appear as feature pages in the Calendar and many of the runners up also have miniatures of their drawings presented in montages spread throughout the publication. Children you know may well have their artwork preserved for perpetuity in this edition.
The Calendar has always been popular so check with your local Coordinator to see if they have any left for you to enjoy and keep track as Days Go Bye!
You can find your local Coordinator here: https://nhwtas.org.au/local-groups/.
