Members attending the AGM will be asked to vote on two proposed changes to our Constitution. The first is to make clear that NHW areas can be managed through the services of a Social Media Coordinator. The second change is to clarify the calculations for a majority vote in Board deliberations. Further details are in this Bulletin and on the NHW website.

International Coffee with a Cop Day is 4 October 23. Inspector John Toohey and his officers will be at New Town Plaza at 11am. At the same time, Inspector Shane LeFevre and his members will be at Shadows Café in Latrobe. If you can be at either event – turn up and enjoy a free cuppa and chat with your local police
Neighbourhood Watch (NHW) is a finalist in the MAIB Community Safety Award, a category within the Community Achievement Awards.

John first became a police officer in 2003 with the Northern Territory Police Force prior to moving to Tasmania in 2009, joining Tasmania Police.
During his career he has served in numerous areas, including general duties, remote community policing, forensics, criminal investigation, professional standards, project management, Commissioner’s Office and his current role is Officer in Charge, Hobart Division.
Operational Comment: Youth Crime:
"I am conscious of community concerns about youth crime and anti-social behaviour, particularly in our public places. To deal with this we have created task forces to directly target hot spots and recidivist offenders to ensure our city and suburbs are safer for everyone."
