Introducing - Inspector John Toohey

John first became a police officer in 2003 with the Northern Territory Police Force prior to moving to Tasmania in 2009, joining Tasmania Police.

During his career he has served in numerous areas, including general duties, remote community policing, forensics, criminal investigation, professional standards, project management, Commissioner’s Office and his current role is Officer in Charge, Hobart Division.

Operational Comment: Youth Crime:
"I am conscious of community concerns about youth crime and anti-social behaviour, particularly in our public places. To deal with this we have created task forces to directly target hot spots and recidivist offenders to ensure our city and suburbs are safer for everyone."
