Every year we recognise the good work of our members, volunteers and supporters at our Annual Awards and Prize Giving Ceremony. We need you, the reader, to nominate people who deserve to receive a Neighbourhood Watch Award. Email your nominees to admin@nhwtas.org.au and we will help put the documentation together. It’s our 40th birthday – so let’s celebrate by championing our champions!
Neighbour Day is Australia’s annual celebration of community, encouraging people to connect with their neighbours, while also helping to address loneliness across the nation. You can celebrate in a variety of ways including hosting or supporting events that assist and engage your communities. Get involved in Neighbour Day – and get connected!
Our Calendar Drawing Competition is now open, and entries will close on 31 May 26! Entry forms can be downloaded from our website at: https://nhwtas.org.au/calendar-drawing-competition/. Please encourage everyone you know to promote this competition to primary schools and parents. We want this to be our best calendar yet and the winners will be invited to receive their prizes at the Tasmania Police Academy ceremony on Saturday, 17 October 26.
Fake texts or emails claiming you have a parcel for pick up or delivery are common and can appear legitimate. Do not click on any links. Put messages you are unsure of into the ‘Junk’ folder and then check the sender’s email address or the website URL address provided. There is no rush. If in any doubt, ask a friend and then defer to Stop; Check; Reject!
